FOR REAL? Man Threatens Church To Return His Tithes Or Face Court Action

An irate and disappointed middle aged man has demanded that his church refund his past contributions, including tithes, or else face court action.

The middle aged man claims his Accra-based church refused to assist him, in a period during which he faced extreme financial difficulties.

The disappointed man insists that his contributions to the church, which cover a period of fifteen (15) years, should have afforded him some reprieve in his time of trouble.

However, he claims the one place where he expected to find help turned a blind eye on his predicament and his pleas for help fell on deaf ears.

He has decided to move to a new church which would be more willing to assist its members but before he leaves, he says he wants the church to pay back every cedi he has ever paid into their coffers.


“I want them to pay me all the money I have given to them since I started churching [fellowshipping] with them.

His demands are not restricted to donations and collection however. The frustrated man insists that even the tithes he paid over the fifteen (15) year period should be returned to him.

“Everything. Donations, everything they should refund my money to me. The tithes I am paying is not going to God, it’s going to one particular person and that is the pastor. It is not going to God, it is going to the pastor.”

The peeved man insists that the money he paid should still be in the church coffers and that the money “can never fly”.

I want them to give me my money, he reiterated. “If they do not give me back my money, I will take them to court!”.

I decided to escape from the cell to avoid the trouble I had put myself into, unknown to me that I was complicating matter. After my two cell mates had slept, I started using my hands to dig the wall silently in the dead of the night. I started from a point where I noticed a crack in the cell.When some bricks fell, I further used them in digging and after I had created a hole, I pushed my head into it and tried to escape before dawn. Unfortunately for me, I got stuck, so I shouted. My cry brought the policemen on duty towards the cell and woke my co-inmates up. That was how I was rescued and secured till I was brought to Ibadan.”




Now, I know that crime does not pay. If God should save me from the current situation I am in now, I will never venture into crime again in my life. I have realised that whatever is acquired fraudulently or any ill-gotten wealth does not last. I have my time and life. If I had been contented with my little business and had not engaged in crime, I would not have lost my belongings which now serve as part of the exhibits recovered.”

63 Escape Death As Overland Plane Crash-lands In Ilorin (See Photo)

According to PUNCH reports, Fifty nine passengers and four crew members escaped death by the whiskers on Saturday when an Overland plane from Abuja overshot the runway at the Ilorin airport.

A statement by the General Manager, Public Affairs, of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority, Mr. Fan Ndubuoke, on Saturday, said no life was lost in the incident, which he added, was already being investigated.

The statement read, “An Overland flight 1186, an ATR 72 aircraft with Registration number 5N-BPG from Abuja airport to Ilorin, carrying fifty nine passengers and four crew members,veered off the runway at low speed after a normal landing at the Ilorin Airport.

“The incident which occurred today Saturday, November 29, at 4.45pm, has no casualty recorded. However, the Accident and Prevention Bureau in conjunction with the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has begun an investigation into the cause of the incident.

“The authority wishes to use this medium to reassure Nigerians that safety of the traveling public is still paramount and cannot be compromised.”

A source told one of our correspondents that three professors –a former Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin, Prof. Ishaq Oleyede, Prof. Lanre Badmus and one unnamed professor — were on board the flight.

One of the passengers, Mr. Ayuba Balami, commended the pilot for showing great experience by maneuvering the plane to safety.

However, the airline said the the plane did not crash-land at the Ilorin airport on Saturday.

A statement by the management of Overland, which confirmed the incident and insisted that there was no crash.

‎It said, “‎It was a normal flight to Ilorin and standard procedures of flight were followed. The aircraft landed safely at Ilorin Airport at 1645hrs as scheduled and decelerated to a low speed, and in turning off the active runway, veered off the pavement.

“At the directive of the Pilot In Command, our cabin crew calmly evacuated all the 59 passengers safely and they were moved to the airport terminal. No passengers or crew sustained any injuries whatsoever.

“Our Ilorin passengers have since collected their baggage and gone home while the Ibadan Airport bound passengers will continue on Overland Airways to Ibadan Airport.”

Boko Haram Attacks Shani Town In Borno

Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram last night invaded Shani, the headquarters of Shani Local Government Area in southern part of Borno State.



According to DailyTrust, the gunmen opened fire on innocent people after setting public buildings on fire. It is not yet clear how many people lost their lives but sources who spoke to DailyTrust said the assailants descended on the civilians even as thick smoke was billowing, heightening fear that private residents may have also been set ablaze. Bawa Garba, a resident of the area who spoke with DailyTrust, described the attack as devastating. “The terrorists stormed Shani in a convoy of over 20 motorcycles. Most of them carried assault rifles and petrol bombs,” he said.

Another source, Yusuf Sabo said the attackers have destroyed the Divisional Police Headquarters in Shani. “The police on duty fled when it was obvious that the terrorists had superior weapons. “After they hurled explosives into the station, they proceeded to the town and only God knows the mayhem they inflicted on the people,” he was also quoted as saying by DailyTrust. There was no immediate confirmation of the attack from both the police and the army. Shani is one of the few local government areas in southern Borno that had few incidences of attacks.

Gunmen Abduct 95-Year-Old Priest In Benin

A 95-year-old Senior Apostle General of Messiah Gospel Church, Urhokuosa, Benin-city, Moses Aibangbee, was kidnapped on Thursday at 5.30am at the entrance of his church.



Narrating the incident to journalists, Pastor Aigbe Christopher said he woke up around 5am in preparation for the morning service only to by accosted by four persons fully armed with guns.

He said: “As I woke up around 5am this morning (yesterday), I opened my front door and saw four persons by the window of our Papa Aibangbee. They left the window and pointed their guns at me, telling me to ask my wife to switch off the radio that was on at that particular time.

“They then asked me to cooperate with them and they had not come for me but Papa Aibangbee.

“At that point, Henry, Aibangbee’s son, had readied the car to take papa to church. As they drove off to church, they left me and I ran after them because the road is not too motorable.”

Christopher said as he tried to run to the church to warn the elderly man and his son through another road, he overheard the wife of the abducted priest crying that her husband had been kidnapped.

Giving his own account, Henry, who drove his 95-year-old father to church, said as they arrived the church premises, he asked his parents to wait inside the car while he went in to put on the church’s generating set, stating that before he could do that, two persons armed with guns pounced on him demanding the car key.

He said the gunmen took the key and drove his car away, abducting his father along with them.

The 95-year-old man’s wife, Mrs. Aibangbee also told reporters that she managed to sneak out of the car when the gunmen focused attention on her son.

She said she wondered what they would want with the poor old man and appealed to the abductors to release him, as he is unwell.

At the time of filing this report, the community elders and youths were meeting on the incident, while contact had not been established with the abductors.

Top Prison Boss Gets 7 Years In Prison For Obtaining Money By False Pretense [See Photo]

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Friday 28, 2014, secured the conviction of a top prison officer as Justice J.J Majebi of the Kogi State High Court, Okene, convicted and sentenced Joseph Friday Idachaba, Deputy Controller of Prisons, to 7 years imprisonment for offences bordering on obtaining money by false pretense.

The convict is to pay the sum of N1, 403,114.09 in restitution to Nigeria Prison Service.

Arraigned in 2012 on a three-count charge, the convict was found guilty on count three of the charge by the trial judge, who, however, acquitted him on two remaining counts.

Count three of the charge reads:


“That you Joseph Friday Idachaba (m) being a deputy comptroller of Nigeria Prisons Service, and Onoja D. Ruth (IP) also a staff of Nigeria Prison Service, sometime between July, 2012 to February 2013 at Lokoja, Kogi State did with intent to defraud obtained N1,403,114.09 only from the Federal Government of Nigeria via the Nigeria Prison Service with pretence that same amount was the payment of monthly salaries from Nigeria Prison Service, which amount was credited into the UBA Plc account No 2054047736 belonging to one Opia Mohammed Ugbade (now at large), through NIGSS electronic fund transfer (NEFT) between July 2012-to February 2013, that the said Opia Mohammed Ugbade’s name found in the Nigeria Prison Service electronic payroll is not a staff of the Service which pretence you knew to be false and hereby committed an offence contrary to section 1(1) paragraphs A&B and punishable under section 1(3) of the Advance Free Fraud and Other Related Offences Act.”

SEE GOBE!! 63 Senators Have Signed To Impeach Jonathan

May Senators dey vex! The level of impunity in the land under Goodluck Jonathan has reached an all time high and the heads of the security agencies are trampling on the laws, disrespecting lawmakers.

Already 63 senators have now signed up to the plan to impeach President Jonathan in the upper legislative chamber as of Thursday.

One of the arrowheads of the move to remove Jonathan in the Senate showed a Punch correspondent the list containing the signatures of the 63 senators who have signed the impeachment notice.

In fact, eight PDP senators are among the Senators that signed to impeach Jonathan.

There are 109 members in the Senate.

A top APC senator from North-West zone told Punch that the lawmakers’ major grouse was the President’s handling of the economy and political affairs of the country.

The senator cited poor implementation of the national budget since 2011, alleged high level of corruption and “gross disregard” of the legislature at both the federal and state levels as topping the list of lawmakers’ anger against Jonathan.

Asked if he realised the process of impeachment could be tedious and cumbersome, the senator said:


“We know and we are prepared to show the President that we have responsibility to the people and the nation in general. We are prepared to lay the impeachment notice anytime from next week. Meetings are already being held.”

Senator Ibrahim Musa (APC Niger North) confirmed that there were moves by some members of the Senate to initiate impeachment proceedings against the President.

PUNCH learnt that the impeachment move against the President had really gained momentum with the APC senators mobilising themselves to carry out the exercise anytime from next week.

Reps Fix Date To Start Impeachment Proceeding Against GEJ

Honorable members at the House of Representatives have fixed next Wednesday to start impeachment proceedings against President Goodluck Jonathan.


It was gathered by Vanguard on Tuesday that the members of the lower chamber are on the same page with their Senate counterparts in their bid to impeach Jonathan, and that the process will began immediately it reconvenes next Wednesday.

It was gathered that the assemblymen coordinating the impeachment process have identified over 50 constitutional violations against the President, which would form part of the impeachment notice.

A source within the House of Representatives, who made this known, said both chambers have resolved to work together for the common good of the country by impeaching President Jonathan for “incompetence, corruption and unprecedented impunity.”

The source further explained that the impeachment plot against Jonathan was not a partisan affair, noting that lawmakers from all the political parties have identified with the cause and will not give up until the President is sent packing.


“I’m sure you read the reports today that senators are going to move against Jonathan. Now you can confirm that the impeachment thing is not about APC. It is a non-partisan cause. We have all resolved that the man (President Jonathan) must go. Never in the history of Nigeria has a leader displayed such crass incompetence as we have seen in President Jonathan. It is glaring and you can feel it. Mr. President, with due respect, has shown that he is not capable of running this country. That is the basic truth,” he said.

The high ranking lawmaker reiterated that over 50 impeachable offences that have been identified against Jonathan, and assured that the House would work closely with the Senate to make sure that President Jonathan is removed from office.

It would be recalled that on Monday, November 24, some Senators on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) reportedly started move to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan over what they termed the high level of impunity and corruption allegedly being condoned by the Jonathan-led administration.

Meanwhile, the plot to impeach the President spread to the Senate, with a growing number of Senators said to be enthusiastic to team up with the Reps to get the President removed after 130 Reps signed to support the plot to oust Jonathan on Thursday, November 20, 2014.

A United States gynaecologist, Dr. Christopher Driskill, is facing the sack after he allegedly left a woman in labour unattended to while having s*x with another patient in New Mexico.

The 42-year-old Christopher Driskill who has already been suspended, has been accused of being drunk at work and sleeping with numerous patients and colleagues and now the New Mexico Medical Board is considering revoking his license.

The board additionally found him to be drinking during work hours and when he was on call. It has also been discovered that Driskill has a “personal cache” of alcohol in his office at the Lea Regional Medical Center.

A suspension notice reads that he admitted several pregnant patients in labour to the Lea Regional Medical Center, but was not present for their deliveries as he was busy having “sexual relations with another patient,” the Albuquerque Journal reports.

Driskill faces 11 charges of misconduct just five months before he was supposed to become the president of the New Mexico Medical Society.

A private jet owned by President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor that conveyed $9.3 million cash from Nigeria to South Africa for an arms deal between the two countries, had Nigerian crew members, and passengers from Israel and Austria, new documents obtained by PREMIUM TIMES in Johannesburg have shown.Ayo Oritsejafor

There were three Nigerians aboard the plane, the documents show.

PREMIUM TIMES obtained the manifest of the jet that transported the huge sum, and has confirmed the identities of the passengers and crew who delivered the controversial package.

South Africa seized the money early September, accusing the Nigerian government of violating its laws regulating the transfer of cash.

Another payment by the Nigerian government for arms to combat the extremist Boko Haram sect, was also confiscated. The second transfer, totalling $5.7 million, was wired through the banks.

The South African ambassador to Nigeria was later quoted as saying the money had been returned to Nigeria, a claim that has yet to be verified.

Details of the first transaction, revealed by a South African newspaper, City Press, said an Israeli and two Nigerians were aboard the airplane that transported the sum to Lanseria airport in South Africa.

The first tranche of the money was conveyed to South Africa on September 5 in two plastic bag suitcases and two hand luggage aboard an airplane belonging to Ayo Oritsejafor, the chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN.

While the Nigerian government confirmed the transactions, it denied violating any foreign law. The government also refused to provide the names of those aboard the airplane.

In its report, widely quoted in the Nigerian media, City Press said the Israeli passenger, Eyal Mesika, had the key to the combination lock of the suitcases. The paper also said two Nigerian passengers were aboard the plane. It quoted South African law enforcement officials.

The report however did not reveal the identities of the Nigerians, and South African officials also declined to provide those details to PREMIUM TIMES when contacted from Nigeria by telephone.

In an investigation that involved visiting South Africa, PREMIUM TIMES has obtained documents showing details of the transaction, including the flight manifest of the airplane.

The listing shows that beside Mr. Mesika, the only Nigerians on board the aircraft were crew members.

The other two passengers who conveyed the cash were Austrians, the manifest shows.

The two Austrians are named, R. Wolfgang and M. Michael.

The flight crew members of the Project Eagle Air jet with flight number: N808HE were Ojongbede R.T (captain), Fejoku U, (flight officer) and George E.E (flight attendant).

The listing contradicts reports that the other passengers were Nigerians, a claim that set off an intense controversy after the All Progressives Congress, APC, accused a former militant leader, Dokubo Asari, of being one of those aboard the plane.The Bombardier jet owned by Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor was involved in hauling $9.3m cash in a cash-for-arm scandal in South Africa

The APC relied on unverified reports by some news websites [not PREMIUM TIMES] in making the false claim.

Mr. Asari denied the allegation and threatened legal action against Lai Mohammed, the spokesperson of the APC.

In an interview with PREMIUM TIMES at the time, Mr. Asari threatened to physically assault Mr. Mohammed if he failed to get justice in the courts.

“After all the South Africa People have given the names of people on the plane and if by next week we go to court and the court is being manipulated not to give me justice, I will resort to self-help,” he said.

“I have the capacity to resort to self-help. I will not give anybody any apology because if a man has mouth to malign me then I can use what I have to fight for myself.”

INEC To Engage The Services Of Air Force, Navy Ahead Of 2015 Elections

The Independent National Electoral Commission said it would engage the services of Nigerian Air Force, Navy and other security agencies for adequate security during general elections in 2015.



Mr Austin Okojie, the commission’s Resident Electoral Commissioner in Taraba, disclosed this while addressing Batch B corps members at NYSC Orientation Camp in Jalingo on Sunday, reports the News Agency of Nigeria.

Okojie explained that the move was necessary given the level of insecurity in the country.

“The commission is making arrangements with the Nigerian Air Force, Navy and other security agents to ensure safety of lives and property during the 2015 general elections.

“We expect Nigerians to understand that the engagement of security agents to maintain law and order is to enable us to conduct free, fair and acceptable elections’’, he said.

Okojie advised corpse members to be patriotic in the elections.

Mr Freeman Tumba, the State Coordinator of NYSC, commended the role of corpse members in the country’s electoral process so far.

He said corps members were the best set of Nigerians to bring credibility to the nation’s electoral process.

Jihadists Kill 28 Christians On Kenyan Bus After Asking Passengers To Prove They’re Muslims (See)

28 Christians were killed yesterday morning Nov. 22nd after Islamic Shebab extremists ambushed a bus in Kenya as it headed for Nairobi from Mandera, a town close to Somalia.

According to reports, the heavily armed extremists separated the Muslims from the Christians by asking them to recite verses from the Qu’ran. Then they ordered the Muslims to get off the bus and then shot the Christians point blank in the head before escaping back to Somalia.

A Spokesman for Shebab later said the 28 travelers were killed in retaliation for a raid on mosques in Mombasa, Kenya last week.

Customs & Agent Clast, Fight To Pieces At Lagos Airport

Business activities were brought to a halt at the cargo section of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos on Wednesday following a clash between officials of the Nigeria Customs Service and clearing agents over alleged manhandling of a senior customs officer.



Two people were injured in the fracas as people scampered for safety after sporadic gunshots were reportedly heard at the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company.

A visit by our correspondent showed that riot police were stationed in the area with an Amoured Personnel Carrier. About eight custom patrol pickups were also drafted to the scene of the incident.

There was also intermittent shooting of tear gas by the NCS men.

Findings revealed that trouble began when the Customs Area Comptroller, Mr. Taju Olarewaju, attempted to enter NAHCO warehouse as part of measures to implement some reforms that would make the clearing of goods seamless.

Olarewaju, who resumed duties at the MMA a few months ago, was prevented from gaining entry despite introducing himself as the CAC.

One of the agents was said to have pushed him, a situation that reportedly infuriated other customs agents.

Attempts by other customs officials to prevent the CAC from being assaulted, it was gathered, led to the fracas.

Agents were driven out of their offices allegedly by customs officials, who allegedly reinforced from the Federal Operations Unit, while some were trapped in their offices, as they could not flee from the scene of the incident.

The President of the Association of Foreign Airlines’ Representatives in Nigeria, Mr. Kingsley Nwokoma, who confirmed the development to our correspondent, said some agents were disgruntled by some of the changes the CAC had been trying to introduce to the airport.

He said, “We learnt that the CAC was manhandled and his car was also vandalised in the process by agents who have not been comfortable with the tight measures he introduced at the warehouse to reduce the issues of underhand dealings and shortcuts there.

“As a result, air force police and soldiers had to be drafted to the area to forestall further breakdown of law and order.”

An agent, Mr. Yemi Adegbusi, said that the CAC tried to gain entry into the warehouse during their break time, which was again the agent’s rule.

He said that the customs started beating up everyone, including women, at the cargo terminal complex.

When contacted, the Public Relations Officer, Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents, Mr. Emmanuel Njoku, refused to comment on the issue.

SSS, Soldiers Invade APC Office, Destroy Properties In Lagos [See Photos]

Nigeria is gradually becoming a lawless state, where security operatives act without any recourse to the law.

Armed security operatives on Saturday attacked the Lagos, western Nigeria office of the main opposition party in the country, the All Progressives Congress, APC, the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed, has said.

Mohammed further said the security men destroyed the party’s data base calling it an impunity carried too far and a scandal that can best be compared with the Watergate Scandal of the United States of America that led to the resignation of the country’s president, Richard Nixon in 1974.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the APC said:


“the invasion could only be likened to the Watergate Scandal that led to the resignation of US President Richard Nixon in 1974, as a result of the June 17, 1972, break-in at the Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters at the Watergate office complex in Washington, D.C., and the attempted cover-up of its involvement by the Republican Nixon administration”





It therefore called for an independent inquiry to fish out those who ordered “the needless and unprovoked attack” on the offices of the APC and ensure that they face very serious consequences, irrespective of their status.


“Saturday’s attack is another one in the string of attacks and illegal actions of the PDP-led administration. The attack was unwarranted and unjustifiable.

“To attack one of the offices of the opposition party, APC, where legitimate operations of the party were being undertaken is an act of fascism and totalitarianism.

To the point of brigandage, the invasion of the APC centre is an assault on the APC and its entire membership across the country. It must not go unpunished,” the APC said.

“If the PDP-led government and the security agents had done due diligence and acted professionally, they would have known that the APC data centre is a legitimate operation and the staff are Nigerian youths who were left jobless by the Jonathan government.

“Apart from the Lagos centre, the operation is decentralized and similar centres are functional in about six different locations around the country.

“They chose to believe the lie that it was a warehouse belonging to one of the national leaders of the party where dangerous weapons were being kept, when in fact it is a centre for entering the data provided by the millions of Nigerians who registered as members of the party during its membership registration exercise,” the party said.

It described the invasion as another act of impunity, now a trademark of the Jonathan-led presidency which is being edged on by the hawks in the PDP.

“Don’t Push Us To The Wall”- Ex-Militant Commanders Warn Against Move To Impeach Jonathan

Ex militant commanders in the Niger Delta have warned members of the House of Representatives to refrain from its alleged move to impeach President Goodluck Jonathan.

The President of the group, Mr Reuben Wilson reassured President Jonathan of their support, promising that they would resist any move to embarrass him.


“They call themselves honourable members. But I can say that for legislators to scale the fence of the National Assembly to gain entry into the hallowed chambers, they have lost the respect of the public.

It is only criminals that jump fences to gain entry into places, honourable people do not behave like that.

“We are watching what they are doing.

Let me inform them that their latest attempt at impeaching the president will fail.

The Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal should do the honourable thing by vacating his seat because the law says when you defect to another party; you automatically lose your seat.

“How would he eat his cake and still have it? Tambuwal wants to discredit the president so that his new party can gain favour in the eyes of the public.

What happened on Thursday was a continuation of their so-called Salvation rally.

“You can imagine some APC leaders threatening to take laws into their hands and form a parallel government if their party loses in the 2015 elections.

It was not up to 24 hours after that threat that the show of shame was displayed on Thursday.

If they wanted to actually go and sit for their legitimate legislative duties, why did they go in a commando style as if they were thugs?

“We know what they are doing and we are watching them. They should not push us to the wall, because if they do, we shall react.”

Not sure when it happened exactly but they say it happened in Uganda and that the girl's parents had the maid arrested after the father (pictured with his kids) beat her so mercilessly that she had to be admitted in the hospital. T.B Joshua asks court to stop coroner inquest investigating his church building collapse

The founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations, Prophet T.B. Joshua yesterday asked the Lagos state High Court in Ikeja to stop proceedings of the coroner inquest set up by the Lagos state govt to look into the circumstances that led to his church's building collapse on Sept. 12th which killed 116.

T.B Joshua, who filed the appeal through his counsel, Olalekan, Ojo, also asked the court to declare that his invitation to appear as a witness before the coroner was a breach of his right to fair hearing, as no case had been established against him before the coroner.
T.B Joshua who was supposed to appear before the coroner yesterday, through his counsel, asked the coroner to suspend proceedings pending the outcome of the case he just filed against it which is to be called up for hearing on December 3rd.

The coroner, Magistrate O.A. Komolafe however declined his request saying no one had served him court document to that effect.

Here is what happens to girls with big eyes, always looking for guys with big cars that will spend money on them. When your priorities are all about “give me money, give me money”, this is the result!

She is a 300 level Computer Science student and the 6th of November, 2014, was like every other day for her at the University of Lagos, Akoka Yaba. As the girl, who claimed to be sick, returned from lectures and stepped into her apartment located at the Moremi hall, one Daniel Okereke, a big boy who has been wooing her, came visiting.

Without any hesitation, the undergraduate was said to have left her room to attend to her visitor, who it was learnt opted to take her to a pharmaceutical store around Akoka to get some drugs. He reportedly took her to an eatery, so that she could eat before taking the drugs.

Funny enough, he offered to take her to his house and she accepted. Imagine a girl who claimed to be sick; she decided to follow a man who is not yet her boyfriend, he is still wooing her, to his house. Story for the gods! The rough guy took her to his abode in the Mende area of Maryland where he allegedly ended up raping her…



Narrating her ordeal to the police, the UNILAG female student [names withheld] who had marks of strings on her back, hands and legs , narrated how she narrowly escaped being murdered by Okereke, in her bid to free herself from his grips.

According to her: “When he came visiting, I never knew he had something sinister in his mind until we got to his place. At the eatery, he ordered that the food be made take-away and asked me to go eat it in his place and at the same time rest before taking me back to the hostel.

“Immediately we entered the room, he secured the door and I had supper and later asked to be taken back. But he said he must have se.x with me. I tried to appeal to him to consider my state of health and take me back to campus.

“Before I knew what was happening, he started beating me, forcing to have his way. As if that was not enough, he called in seven guards in the compound who assisted him and tied me down. He thereafter, went into his kitchen and brought out a knife, threatening to kill me if I resisted. He took me to one of the rooms where he brought out a c****m and raped me.”

When the 23 year-old lady was untied, she went violent and started shattering every property she could lay her hands on. In the process, one of the objects she allegedly threw out of the window, landed on a vehicle belonging to one of the tenants, smashing its windscreen. That attracted neighbours.

The case was reported at Area ‘F’ Ikeja. During interrogation, Okereke, claimed to be nephew of the former DG of Nigerian Stock Exchange, and cousin to a front-line Nollywood actress who ironically has a foundation which promotes the well being of women.

The guy was said to have been released on bail, and the case has been transferred to the State CID.

In his defence, Okereke claimed that the female student destroyed his property, hence his action. Now it is her words against his.

In court, Okereke and his accomplice pleaded not guilty to the charges. And the Magistrate, Aje-Afunwa, granted the Lagos big boy, Okereke, bail in the sum of just N200,000. The second guy was granted bail in the sum of just N50,000. The matter was adjourned till next year, January 9, 2015.
